Сonventional designation of bearings according to GOST

Main designation according to GOST 3189 generally consists of 7 figures mentioned below. Herewith, the part of designations that consists of zeros which are the first figures with the value, are not specified. Therefore, the designation of the bearing 80206 refers to the main designation - 0080206, where from the right to the left: "06" - the inner diameter of 30mm (6 = 30: 5), "2" - the second series of diameters, "0" - ball groove type, "08 "- constructive performance (with two protective washers)" 0 "- zero width series.

The main designation (without additional) describes the main performance of the bearing, means that the bearing:

  • with rings and rolling bodies of the bearing steel ШХ - 15;
  • 0 accuracy class according to GOST 520;
  • with a cage, set for the main structural performance according to industry records.

Signs order of the main conventional designation corresponds to one of the following schemes:

  • For bearings with an inner diameter of 10 mm, (d <10) except bearings with an inner diameter of 0.6; 1.5; 2.5 mm.

Priority signs: 7654321, where (1) - inner diameter (2) - a series of diameters (3) - figure 0, (4) - type of the bearing, (56) - the constructive kind, (7) - widths series.

  • For bearings with an inner diameter of 10 mm or more, (d≥10) except bearings with an inner diameter of 22; 28; 32; 500 mm or more.

Priority signs 7654321, where (21) - internal diameter, (3) - a series of diameters, (4) - type of the bearing, (65) - the constructive kind, (7) - widths series.

In these schemes the following designations of inner diameter are used:

- For internal diameters from 1 to 9 mm, denoted as fractions, designated with the figure equal to the nominal diameter;

- For internal diameters of 10, 12, 15, 17 mm - the figures accordingly 00, 01, 02, 03;

- For internal diameters from 20 to 495 mm, aliquot 5 - double figures, obtained by dividing the nominal diameter of the bearing into 5;

- For internal diameter of 0.6; 1.5; 2.5; 22; 28; 32 mm and 500 mm to 2000 - a number, equal to the nominal diameter, separated from others by fraction sign mark of the main conventional designation, such 10079/560.

If the inner diameter of the bearing a is fractional number in the range of 10 mm, it is assigned a sign marking the nearest whole number, while the second place belongs to the figure 5.

If the inner diameter of the bearing in the range of 10 ..... 19 mm and is different from 10, 12, 15 and 17 mm, it is assigned a sign marking the nearest of these diameters, while the third place of the main bearing designation belongs to figure 9.

The internal diameters of 20 to 495 mm, expressed with fraction or whole number, but not aliquot 5, marked by an approximate quotient from dividing of the diameter value by 5. In conventional designation of such bearings the third place belongs to figure 9.

Bearing series

The combination of diameters and widths (heights) series form the dimensional series of the  bearing. Denomination of size series and series designation of diameters and widths (heights):

Diameters series: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0

Widths and heights series of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0.

Bearings that have marks 6 or 7 in the diameters series designation, are non-standard on the inner diameter or width (size does not correspond to GOST 3478, uncertain series), marks 7 or 8 - non-standard on the outside diameter or width. These bearings have the designation in the seventh sign (widths series).

Types of bearings

The fourth symbol in the main conventional designation indicates the type of bearing (direction of the allowable load and the form of rolling elements). Types marking of rolling bearings are as following:

0 - deep groove ball bearing (figure affixed only if the main conventional designation consists of five or more figures), for example 180205, 204;

1 - radial spherical ball bearing, for example 1007;

2 - radial roller with short cylindrical rollers, for example 2206;

3 - radial spherical roller bearing, for example 3636;

4 - radial roller  needle bearing or with long cylindrical rollers, for example 4024107;

5 - radial roller with twisted rollers, for example 5220;

6 - angular contact ball bearing, for example 46204;

7 - tapered roller bearing, for example 7520;

8 - thrust bearing or angular contact ball bearing, for example 8703;

9 - thrust bearing or radial roller bearing, for example 9102, 9039415.

  • Additional signs of conventional designation

Decryption and signs order that indicate additional requirements, correspond to the following scheme: XXXX XXXXXXX XX XX XX XX XX XX XXX XX, where XXXX (additional characters on the left) first X from the left to the right - I category, the second X - II moment of friction, third X - III radial clearance, the fourth X - IV accuracy class.

XXXXXXX - the main designation.

XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XXX (additional characters on the right), where the twelfth and thirteenth - V bearing construction, increased load capacity of the bearing, fourteenth and fifteenth - VI material detail, sixteenth and seventeenth - VII structural changes, eighteenth and nineteenth - VIII roller bearings with modified contact, twentieth and twenty-first - IX special technical requirements, the twenty-second and twenty-third - X temperature requirements, the twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth - XI lubricants, twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth - XII vibration requirements.

  • Additional signs on the left of the main conventional designation means the following:

I Category - letter A or B indicates the presence of additional technical requirements set out in the technical specifications for bearings in categories A, B, C or approved due to course design documentation. The category C includes bearings without additional requirements and the letter "C" in the designation will not be marked. Signs affixed in front of the category A and B, indicate the additional technical requirements;

II Friction moment - the figure 1, 2, 3 ... indicates normal friction moment. In the main conventional designation angular contact ball bearings and radial single-row bearings with radial clearance by normal group in place of radial clearance - stamped letter M;

III Radial clearance - the number 1, 2, 3 ... indicates the group of radial (axial) clearance GOST 21810, according to which each group of bearings may have one normal and several additional groups of clearence. Specific requirements, other than those referred to GOST, indicated by the letter "H". Normal group of radial clearence is not indicated in the designation;

IV Accuracy class - indicates 8, 7, 0, X (6x), 6, 5, 4, 2, T and characterizes, in order of accuracy increase, dimension of limit deviation of sizes, shapes and relative bearing surfaces (GOST 520). Therefore, accuracy class 0 is normal, and 7 and 8 - reduced. Accuracy class 0 in the absence of any additional markings is not specified. The letter "B", coming after the sign of accuracy class means increased precision of tapered roller bearings on the mounting height.

  • Additional signs on the right of the main conventional designation means the following:

V bearing construction - the letter H stands for:

1. radial roller double-sided spherical bearing with annular groove and bores for lubrication GOST 5721, GOST 24696 and GOST 24850;

2. radial roller bearing with short cylindrical rollers and dimensions GOST 5577;

3. thrust ball single or double bearing with diameter sizes of free ring GOST 7872;

Bearing of high load capacity are marked with the letter A.

VI detail material - designation (the figure means subsequent performance):

Ю, Ю1... - all or the part of details of the bearing are made of stainless steel;

E, E1... - details of the bearing are made of steel ШХ brand with special additives (vanadium, cobalt, etc.).

X, X1... - rings (including one of the rings) and bearing rolling elements made of cemented steel;

P, P1…  - bearing details are made of heat-resistant brands of steel;

Г, Г1... - bearing cage is made of ferrous metals;

Б, Б1... - bearing cage is made of bronze;

Д, Д1... - bearing cage is made of aluminum alloy;

E, E1... - bearing cage is made of plastic materials (polyamide, ebonite);

Л, Л1... - bearing cage is made of brass;

Я, Я1... - details of the bearing are made of rarely used materials (carbide ceramics, glass, etc.).

Н, Н1… - rings (including one of the rings) and the rolling elements of bearings are made of modified heat-resistant steel (except radial roller double-sided spherical bearings).

VII Constructive changes are marked with the letter K, K1... with figures in the order of performance. For cylindrical roller bearings "K" means stamped steel cage. For thrust ball bearings K, K6 and K7 comply with GOST 832;

VIII Roller bearings with modified contact are marked with the letter M, M1 ... with figures in the order of performance.

IX Special specifications are marked with the letter У, У1 ... with figures in the order of performance and indicate stricter requirements for roughness, accuracy of rotation and other parameters.

X Temperature requirements - T, T1 ... T4 - temperature stabilizing designation (160.180, 200, 250, 300 ° C, accordingly) in the manufacture of bearings;

XI Lubricants are marked with the letter C1, C2 ... C27 and determine the types of lubricants for capped rolling bearings; Bearings are filled with grease ЦИАТИМ-201 with no additional markings.

XII vibration requirements are marked with the letter Ш, Ш1 and Ш5 ... determine the level of vibration. With the growth of digital index the magnitude of vibration reduses.

  • Marking of needle bearings

Besides standard designation, some needle bearings have conventional designation three multipliers. Herewith, numerical values ​​of multipliers determine the inner diameter, outer diameter and width of the bearing in mm in the order of transfer. The letter, in the end of designation, indicates cage material, letters facing multipliers - the constructive kind of the bearing, for example:

K - radial roller bearing single-row with needle roller without rings, such К25х30х10Д;

ИK - radial roller bearing single-row with needle roller with the cage, for example, ИК15х27х16;

ИКВ - radial roller bearing single-row with needle rollers, without inner ring with groove and bore for lubrication, with the cage, such ИКВ45х55х16Е;

КК - radial roller bearing double-row with needle rollers without rings, for example, KK20h26h34E;

КВК - radial roller bearing with needle rollers without rings, for piston pins support, for example, КВК12х16х13Г;

КСК - radial roller bearing single-row with needle rollers without rings for pins of crank mechanism, for example, КСК18х24х13Г;

AK - thrust single-row bearing with needle rollers without rings, for example,  АК28,8х45,5х3Е.

The figure that is left of the conventional designation reflects the accuracy degree of rollers (2, 3, 5) according to GOST 6870, for example, 3KK30h35h46E. The degree of accuracy 2 is not affixed in designation.

Roller needle bearing (РИП) for linear movement has a specific designation, such as РИП 2010. The first two figure on the left indicates roller diameter (2.0 mm), the last - bearing width (10mm).

According to GOST 46290 manufactured bearings of constructive kind РИK ... (Combined Needle Roller) 4th accuracy class of cages made of brass (L) and plastic material (E). In the digital part of the basic designation first two figures - indicates the internal diameter, and the next two or three figures - the diameter of the outer ring. Example 4-РИК2052Л - inner diameter - 20 mm, external diameter - 52 mm, accuracy class - 4, brass cage (L).

Most common among the bearings according to GOST 4060 are bearings with a through hole bearings without the cage - 940/00, НK000000. For these bearings installed two classes of accuracy: I - accuracy class is specified before the main designation and is separated with a dash, and accuracy class II - is not specified in conventional designation. The letter "K" in additional designation is situated after the main, indicates the presence of the bore for lubrication.

940/00 bearings are usually issued in three size series - 941/00, 942/00, 943/00. Inner diameter of the bearing rollers is specified after fraction. Example: I - 943 / 25K - bearing of dimension series 943 with a bore for lubrication (K), the inner diameter of 25 mm, accuracy class I.

When marking bearings NK000000 its sizes are consistently given. Example: NK222812 - inner diameter of 22 mm, outside diameter 28 mm, width 12 mm, accuracy class II (is not specified).

  • Marking plain bearings according to GOST 3635

Main bearing designation generally includes the designation of a constructive kind and size of the internal diameter of the plain bearing, besides, on the left put down dimensional series (numbers or letters). Dimensional series 7 is not stamped in the main conventional designation. For this type of bearing is set 1st and 2nd degree of accuracy. First degree of accuracy appears before the main designation and is separated with a dash. Second degree of accuracy is not affixed in designation.

Designation of basic types and constructive kinds of plain bearings:

Ш - plain bearing for mobile connections without bores and grooves for lubrication;

ШМ - plain bearing for immobile connections without bores and grooves for lubrication;

ШС - plain bearing for immobile connections with bores and grooves for lubrication in the inner ring;

ШСЛ - modification of the ШС bearing connectors of the outer ring in the longitudinal direction;

ШСП - modification of the ШС bearing with a cut on the outer ring;

ШСР - modification of the ШС bearing connectors of the outer ring in the transverse direction.

The figure standing in front of the type designation of the bearing (2ШС ... ШС ...) indicates a series of widths and diameters, different from the main performance. The letter "K" which stands in the end of designation indicates the bearing with bores and grooves to lubricate the inner and outer rings, for example, ШС40К.

The main conventional designation are put on the end of rings by stamping in the way of etching or electric-way and on the outer surface of the outer ring - by  electrochemical etching. The main conventional designation is not applied on the bearing rings in some cases for miniature and precision bearings, indicating them in accompanying documentation and packaging.
